As a social change agency, we lead with love…
...and work with shift disturbers to live in symbiotic relationship with the Earth and each other.
We invest in people (re)discovering how we recenter knowledge, values, ways of being and ways of working together that accelerate a transformation to living in symbiotic and respectful relationships.
Our approach to...our agency model
As a collective of individuals, we engage the whole person in our work, celebrate and honour diversity, and embrace complexity. We are a learning organization and team that recognizes our accountability to community.
We put our respective privileges to work to live our questions...
How do we decolonize our work?
How do we lead fully with love?
How can we intentionally create, hold and cede space to centre voices from the margins?
We train ourselves in the reflective practices, place-based learning and deep knowledge exchange that we facilitate in our work. We document and tell stories of our own experience of this approach in our fieldnotes.
Our approach to...our work
How do we begin to embody the just world we strive for?
This question guides all our work.
It is why we approach our work — our cohort experiences, our social change projects, everything — through reflective practices, place-based learning and deep knowledge exchange.
These practices demand courageous learning in action through engaged dialogue with ourselves, others, the systems around us and the Earth herself.
These practices are:
Transformative — retraining pathways in our brain over time, thanks to the beautiful neuroplasticity of the brain.
Relational — (re)centring our attention on relationships and the interconnectedness of our communities and planet.
Different, remembered and reclaimed ways of working together — drawing on the Earth, the heart, the mind, the spirit, the soul, and different perspectives through practice.
We believe these practices are both an ends and means to begin living the just world we strive for now. They enable us to (re)engage with different knowledges, values and ways of being that help us better see, understand and collectively address the complexity of today’s problems.
These practices spring from interdependence, lifelong learning, humility and care. They are necessary to unwind the negative impacts of colonization and reimagine how we connect to each other and the world around us.
At CKX, we do not practice to pursue personal enlightenment, but to bring to life the futures we seek — futures where we live in symbiotic relationship with each other and the Earth.
Our approach to...our partnerships & procurement
We are shaped by our relationships; through relationships, we can experience and foster the deepest learning and impact.
We work with vision and values-aligned organizations, individuals and institutions for our procurement and our partnerships. We will work actively with the people we procure from and partner with to deepen, increase or amplify values-aligned action, in true relationship rather than transactional exchange.
We will continually assess whether there is values alignment with the people we are in relationship with. We will bring forward any concerns with them for discussion and action.
Throughout 2019, we will continue to deepen our partnership and procurement approach. We look forward to sharing more in the coming months.
In the interim, we invite you to share your thoughts with us at email@example.com
